Protein Shakes with Veggies

Enjoy our veggie filled protein shake recipes. For most of the recipes you may use fresh or frozen vegetables. Make certain that you wash all of your fresh veggies well prior to using it. I usually even wash vegetables that requires peeling, like potatoes or squash, to make certain that no contaminants that may be on the peel touch the fresh vegetables.
Most of the recipes may use fresh or frozen vegetables. When I find nice fresh in season vegetables like baby carrots or spinach, I'll buy extra to freeze for later use.

Carrot Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup carrots grated finely
  • 1/2 cup carrot juice
  • 1/2 cup soft silken tofu
  • 1 cup frozen vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon finely grated or chopped ginger
  • 2 oranges, the juice only
  • pinch of salt

Process the carrots, juices and tofu on pulse for a few second before adding the other ingredients to the blender. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until mixed thoroughly and serve.

Next Morning

  • 1 teaspoon milk thistle
  • 1 teaspoon dandelion
  • 1 scoop of your favorite high-quality protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon gingko biloba
  • 2 carrots chopped
  • 2 cups finely chopped spinach
  • 1/2 beet chopped

Process all of the ingredients in a blender until mixed thoroughly and serve. If you have a juicer, place the carrots, spinach and beet into the juicer and then add the juice to be blended with the other ingredients.
